The Chauffeur Dress Code
Being qualified as a chauffeur is one thing, but to be a professional driver you must be dressed to impress. A chauffeur not only represents the company, but he or she must represent the high-level of service expected from a luxury ground transportation company. Dress codes may differ slightly from company to company, but generally will follow a similar set of standards for both male and female chauffeurs. We have outlined what you will need to wear below:
Male Chauffeurs
Generally, male chauffeurs will wear a full suit, including shirt and a tie. This will include the following:
- A dark single-color suit (No pinstripes!) that will be black, navy or dark grey. You must ensure that it is clean and pressed so that you look professional and at your best.
- A tie that is also black, navy or dark grey – this must be neatly tied and tight around the collar.
- A plain white, long-sleeve button shirt that is nicely tucked in and buttoned all the way up.
- Black dress shoes and socks – brown shoes that don’t match the suit is a definite no.
Female Chauffeurs
For female chauffeurs, the dress code generally follows the same rules as the male chauffeur.
- A single-color trouser suit that is black, navy or dark grey along with being clean and pressed.
- A long-sleeved, plain white shirt that is buttoned all the way up and neatly tucked in.
- Classic, black dress-shoes that are clean and polished.
Chauffeur Hygiene
Chauffeur Hygiene is as important as the dress code – no one wants an unhygienic chauffeur at the wheel! Every chauffeur should adhere to the following:
- A clean and tidy haircut along with being clean shaven (or well-groomed facial hair).
- -For female chauffeurs with long hair, this must be tied back.
- No smoking before collecting a client – this includes vape pens!
- Washed and smelling great!
- No overbearing/strong colognes or perfumes
The dress code of the chauffeur is one of class and distinction. Luxury transportation chauffeurs should take pride in their appearance, their service, and their ride.
